The Paleo diet, often referred to as the “Caveman Diet,” harks back to the dietary habits of our ancient ancestors from the Paleolithic era. This nutritional approach centers around whole foods that prehistoric humans would have naturally gathered or hunted, such as lean meats, fish, vegetables, nuts, and fruits. The diet eschews modern agricultural products and processed foods, which means grains, dairy, legumes, and added sugars are typically off the table. Advocates of the Paleo diet believe that by emulating the eating patterns of our forebears, we can align more closely with our genetic makeup and potentially experience enhanced health and vitality.

I recently committed to one week of Paleo as a way to jump-start my fitness program. I was not previously familiar with the Paleo diet, but with Edmund's encouragement and assurance that I would see results, I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of food, and the interesting and varied menu. (I was NOT surprised at how good the food tasted, being a regular at Saskatoon). After losing five pounds the first week, I decided to continue with the Paleo program. Approximately 10 weeks later, I had dropped more than 20 pounds, and I felt good, with plenty of energy. I particularly like the convenience of the pre-packaged meals and the portion control aspect… and, of course, the nightly desserts and my free day!

Honestly, the program couldn’t be easier.
I choose my meals from the weekly menu and pick up my prepared meals when they’re ready. This is the only program that includes all three meals for the entire week, as well as snacks and supplements, so there’s no time at the grocery store, no time prepping meals, no time cleaning up after meals. When I think about it, though, even with the drive I’m saving so much time every week because I never have to cook or spend any time shopping or cleaning up after I make a meal.
