It used to just be "the way it was". Along with hunting game to prepare for meals, we also grew gardens—real, actual gardens that provided us with goodness and nourishment straight from Mother Earth. American families were farmers at heart. Nowadays, terms like organic, farm to table, and locally sourced are common, as the idea of growing your own food (or at least knowing who did), has become popular again. At Saskatoon Lodge, these terms aren’t just buzz words. To us, locally-sourced produce isn’t a fad, and knowing where our food comes from isn’t passing phase.

We’ve always believed in selecting the best cuts of wild game, and we’re equally committed to creating sustainable gardens for stocking our kitchen and serving our guests. As owner Edmund Woo laid out his plan for the new restaurant and event venue, he was determined to include beautiful gardens that will provide our guests with fresh herbs and produce they can enjoy seeing and eating, when they join us at The Lodge for a meal or special event.

Field-to-Table is our style. Which means we bring the finest, freshest steaks and cuts of wild game straight from the field to your plate, nestled right next to that delicious garden goodness. We’re particular about sourcing and selecting all of the meats we serve, and the fields from which they come.
We’re passionate about growing and maintaining our own fresh herbs and produce that we put on your plate, and we are dedicated to continuing this effort. It’s our way of life and it’s the way we believe our food, and yours should be eaten.
