It used to just be "the way it was". Along with hunting game to prepare for meals, we also grew gardens—real, actual gardens that provided us with goodness and nourishment straight from Mother Earth. American families were farmers at heart. Nowadays, terms like organic, farm to table, and locally sourced are common, as the idea of growing your own food (or at least knowing who did), has become popular again. At Saskatoon Lodge, these terms aren’t just buzz words. To us, locally-sourced produce isn’t a fad, and knowing where our food comes from isn’t passing phase.
